Nursery Trip to Bedford's Park

Nursery had an exciting and busy day at Bedford's Park today. We explored the woods and followed the teddy bears to have a special teddy bears picnic. When we arrived at the right spot the children were sent to find plates, knives, forks and a three course meal for the bears. The bears had a lovely feast!
The children also swept the long grass to discover mini-beasts. They enjoyed swooping the nets and examining the creatures in the jars after. We also checked the trees and shook brances to see which living creatures we could discover.
Everyone was well behaved and had a fun experience, we are sure they will sleep well tonight! A big thank you for all of the parent support we received today it is very much appreciated.

Nursery Pirate Experience

Nursery children enjoyed being pirates for the day last week. We had some fantastic pirate costumes which really helped the children get into role for their story experience. After showing off their outfits, creating treasure maps and building planks to walk the children were then whisked away to help the captain pirate find some buried treasure! On their mission they had to scrub the decks, hoist the sales, listen carefully to the pirate stories and return safely to land.

Perfume Potions!

Reception have been busy this week brewing their own perfumes and potions! The children planted some herbs in our garden area earlier this term and have been looking after them. The herbs are now flourishing, the mint in particular! So we decided to add some to our perfume making tray. The herbs have sparked much discussion over where the come from, what they smell like and what the perfumes and potions will do to you!

"Oooh it smells nice!" Darci
"We need more mint, put some in here." Chisom
"This potion makes you really big." Aisha
