Year Reception: What We Are Learning 

Our focus this week was Transition and enjoying our last week in Reception. 

Here is what we have been up too;

In Maths this week the children have put their skills to the test in a range of challenges. We made patterns, practised tally marks, drew numbers with chalk, made numbers with sticks and rocks and noticed which containers held the most amount of water.

The children participated in the Colour Run where they walked, jogged, or ran through a course while being gently sprinkled with coloured powder at various stations. It was super fun and the children had giant smiles while doing it!

The children were great audience members of Broadfords Got Talent where we watched great singing, dancing and comedy! Broadford really is full of talent!

As the school year comes to a close, we would like to thank you for your support and encouragement throughout the year. It has been a pleasure teaching your children and watching them grow in confidence, knowledge, and independence.

We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing summer break filled with happy memories. Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the new school year!

Starting Reception at Broadford Primary school

 

In September I will start Reception.

I will walk into school and meet my new teacher.

  

My Teachers will be

Mrs Marie (Year Group Lead, Aspen class)

My Teaching assistants are:

My teachers will help me and teach me lots of new things!

I will meet my teacher at the door and say goodbye to my parent(s).

We can bring in one bag with our change of clothes to stay in Reception. 

I can bring my school bag on my reading day.

I can also bring in a packed lunch and a water bottle.

    

We will hang our coats on a peg and put away our water bottles and packed lunches.

My classroom looks like this.

 

Sometimes we can play outside in the garden.

I can use the toilet at school.  I will wash my hands after using the toilet.  

 

I will go home by meeting my parent(s) at the gate where I said goodbye in the morning.

I will go back to school again the next day.

HOLIDAY DATES (SCHOOL CLOSED): 

Last day of summer term; Tuesday 23rd July 2024 

School inset date: Wednesday 24th July 2024

This week the children have been learning about their transition to Year 1. We read the story 'Jake's first day'.

The children spent the morning with their new teacher on Tuesday.

We had lots of fun during our water fight on Friday! 

Please could you take your child’s wellies home with you this week.
If you would like to donate their wellies for future Reception children, please let us know.

We are collecting in reading books, please could you ensure your child has returned their books! Thank you!
