Apple's Learning Challenges!

There has lots of learning going on at home in Apple Class. Ethan has produced a fantastic collage of pictures by the illustrator Axel Scheffler. He was able to name lots of books illustrated by Axel Scheffler and had written some facts to share with his classmates. Ethan also recorded a video of himself reciting the poem 'Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear' with his teddy bear. Ethan not only remembered the poem he added actions and some humour, Apple class loved it!

Ellie also produced a fabulous poster about Axel Scheffler and the children discussed their favourite books illustrated by him. Ellie also did some research into stars and produced a poster with all the information she had found out, Ellie confidently shared these facts with her peers.

Augusta found out some fabulous facts about Axel Scheffler and he was able to remember these and share them with his friends. Jessica drew a super picture of Goldilocks and the three bears one of her favourite traditional tales.

Nicole has completed her third learning challenge for the half term! She worked with her family to create a fantastic fairytale castle along with Cinderella and her pumpkin carriage. Nicole had found out some facts about Cinderella and made these into a book which she read aloud to Apple class. Nicole previously researched Axel Scheffler and drew up a fantastic timeline of his life with some really interesting facts, along with collaging a tree of books he had illustrated. Nicole painted a watercolour picture of the Gruffalo following the style and processes used by Axel Scheffler. "First he draws it in pencil, before he uses black pen to outline the picture. When he is happy he uses watercolour paints to paint his picture" explained Nicole to Apple class.

What a fantastic half term of learning challenges Apple class, thank you for sharing your leaning with us all!
