Focus play this week:

This week the children have been working on their language skills. We have been playing fun games to help expand our vocabulary and build our sentence structures, by using full sentences to identify the name of the animal on the dice and make the animal sound.

Book of the week:

This week the children have been listening to the book Cats Colours. The children really enjoyed naming the colours and discussing cats kittens.

We wish you a Merry Christmas

Our learning fun this week:

This week the children have been exploring colours, patterns and how they can be changed. We spoke about how the light affects the paper and how the same colour may look different depending if the light is dark or bright (day or night).

We have ben practicing our pencil grip, applied pressure and pencil control in the art and writing areas as the children have been developing their name writing skills and free marking. Some of the children have been attempting to make, mark and draw cats using scissors and coloured pencils to recreate their version of Cats Colours.

Outdoor fun:

The children have been having fun in the garden. We have been developing our listening skills by practicing with musical instruments and dancing and singing to music.
The children have been creating their own obstacle course games using the outdoor resources. We have been traveliing in and out of tyres an finding different ways to move over cones, from jumping, steping and waddling. We have been very creatie in our thinking.

Story suitcase:

A big thank you to Eden for taking Mr Bear home to read with his family, drinking hot chocolate and having fun. Mr bear had a fantastic time and looks forward to going home with another child in the coming future.
