Nursery learning- 19.04.2024

Important Nursery rules

  • The nursery doors open at 8.30am for 10 minutes each morning. We politely remind parents to please arrive on time, as late arrivals cause upset to the other children and prevent activities from taking place.
  • For AM collection the nursery doors open at 11.15am until 11.30 am. Please ensure children are collected on time.
  • For PM collection The nursery doors open at 3pm until 3.20pm. Please ensure children are collected on time. Children not collected by 3.20pm will be taken o the late collection point within the school and will need to be collected via the school office.
  • The nursery team would like to remind parents: Please leave a bag with a spare set of clothing at nursery. This bag should be a labelled drawstring bag or a carier bag. As we do not have space for rucksacks, childrens rucksacks will be returned. Rucksacks take up space on pegs making it challenging for the children to access their belongings.
  • We would also like to remind parents toys from home are not allowed in the nursery. They can be dangerous, cause incidents over sharing and the children become very upset when they get lost or damaged.
  • Children are only allowed to wear small studded earrings to nursery to avoid accidents/loss, no hooped earrings are permitted.
  • No food is permitted into the nursery sessions. Lunch boxes should be placed on the lunch trolley. Please ensure no food contains nuts as we are a nut free school.

Thank you for your co-operation

Story of the week

This week the children have been listening to our story of the week, Jack and the beanstalk. The children can confidently retell the story, know stories have a begining middle and end, as well as discuss what they like and would change about the story.

Fun with numbers

This week in ten town we have ben learning all about Freddie Four. We have been using our magic pencils to draw number 4 using the ten town saying; Down, across, Ore in the water.

The children have been learning all about space, shape and measuring through our pasta play this week. We have been comparing and weighing the pasta using terms more and less than.

Outdoor fun

The children have shown an interest in mini beasts this week. We have been using magnifying glasses to search for insects in our garden.

We have been working with friends to create sturdy car ramps in the garden using a variety of materials.

Creative play

This week the children have been practicing their fine motor skills using scissors. We have been cuting leaves and beanstalks rom paper to create our very own jack and the beanstalk collages.

At the playdough table the children have been planting their magic beans and creating beanstalks from dough, as they retell the story of the week.

The children have enjoyed markig their own lower pictures based on the photographs based on the writing table. We have seen some beautiul creations in a variety of colours.

Thank you for an amazing week back at school.
