Nursery Weekly Newsletter

Term: Autumn 1 Date 14.10.13

The children had a wonderful time with the Owl Man last week.  The children were amazing, sat beautifully and listened well. Every child also got the opportunity to stroke one of the beautiful creatures. We are in the process of creating a display using owl themed art work and photos of the children with the owls. A photo will be posted once it is complete.

Messages.

Thank you to all of you who have ensured your child has a pair of named wellies and a spare set of clothes. It is essential that your child has these in school and we look forward to receiving the rest of them.

We will be starting our book borrowing scheme this week. We have a box of books outside the class. They are there for you and your child to borrow and read at home. Reading with your child is incredibly important for many reasons, including the development of language skills. When sharing a book with your child you should ask your child simple questions and encourage them to ask questions back. Your child should also be encouraged to talk about the pictures, anticipate what might happen next, join in with repeated refrains and of course enjoy sharing the book with you.

Enclosed is a book review form. If you can complete one of these occasionally when you share a book with your child we would love to display them in our reading corner. As I am sure you aware, the early years is built on strong home school links.

If you have any questions please ask a member of staff.

Thank you for your continued support
