Pirate Curriculum Enrichment Day

Wow, what a super day. We made pirate pizzas, pirate collages and we also had an amazing pirate story workshop. This curriculum enrichment day brought our Pirate theme to a dramatic close.  The children had the opportunity to help create a pirate story using props.  The children demonstrated great resourcefulness, when they came up with new ideas for the different settings, demonstrating an understanding of a story structure. The children now have the skills to create their own stories, which is great for their speech and language development and of course a necessity for when they start writing stories of their own.

They also made pirate pizzas, they talked about the ingredients, cooking process and their own likes and dislikes.  Furthermore when they decorated the pirates they looked closely at pictures of pirates and thought about the features, also discussing similarities and differences.
