New friends in the Nursery

The Nursery children were very lucky to have some special visitors.  Year 2 children had been caring for some chicks, they had watched as they hatched and then they got to look after them for a week.  The Nursery children took great delight in holding and stroking the chicks and most of the children demonstrated care and concern for living things in the environment. 

 

Kezia said “The girls are more yellow” after a discussion involving the difference between male and female chicks. 

 

Kyriq said “There not all near the light now”.  When Kyriq had seen the chicks previously they had only just hatched and they were all huddled under the lamp.

It was fantastic that the children were able to observe the chicks and talk about them. We wish the chicks luck back at the farm.
