We have organised for Wellgate Farm to visit on Tuesday 3rd February In the afternoon- Please notify staff if you wish to change from a morning session to an afternoon session for this day.

Our two-year-olds have been busy little winter artists! They loved picking soft browns and creams to tear, fold, and stick into cosy collages, making all sorts of snowy, wintry creations. Lots of giggles, chatter, and proud smiles filled the room as their cosy masterpieces came to life!

This week, our little bunnies have been hopping into action! We created a simple hop path on the floor using bright carrot pictures, and the children loved hopping from carrot to carrot just like real bunnies. This fun activity is not only full of giggles but also fantastic for developing gross motor skills, balance, and coordination.

After their hopping adventure, we guided the children to our tuff tray, set up with bunnies and carrots, ready for some imaginative play. The children enjoyed exploring the tray, moving the bunnies around, and creating their own little bunny stories. It was wonderful to see them linking their physical play with pretend play, all while practising coordination, curiosity, and creativity!

Our little problem-solvers have been busy matching puzzle pieces to the right shapes! They were full of focus, curiosity, and delight as each puzzle came together.

In Our babies have been busy little explorers, practising getting their cardigans and jumpers on and off all by themselves! They’ve loved feeling the different textures and wiggling their arms through sleeves.

We’ve also been chatting about the weather and which clothes keep us cosy, warm, or dry, lots of learning while having fun!

These activities are helping the children grow their confidence, independence, and coordination, and it’s wonderful to see their proud little smiles when they manage it all by themselves.

The children have been having lots of fun with fine motor activities, giving their hands and fingers a real workout! One favourite was nailing wooden shapes onto a cork board using little pins and a wooden hammer. They loved carefully tapping the pins into place, practising their hand–eye coordination and concentration.

While playing, we chatted about the different shapes and encouraged the children to name them. They then used their imagination to arrange the shapes into pictures and patterns, coming up with all sorts of creative ideas. There was lots of discussion, sharing, and proud smiles as their designs took shape!

The children had so much fun exploring our small world tuff tray filled with straw and tiny bunny figures! They loved digging, scooping, and feeling the different textures as they searched for the hidden bunnies.

Once the bunnies were found, everyone worked together to make cosy little beds and homes, sparking imaginative play, lots of chatter, and caring teamwork.

This activity was brilliant for sensory exploration, fine motor skills, communication, and social play, while also encouraging creativity and cooperation. It was wonderful to see the children so focused, excited, and proud of their little bunny creations!

The children had a splash-tastic time playing in the water tray! They eagerly chose all the resources they wanted to explore and dived straight in with curiosity and excitement.

They experimented with pouring, floating, and watching how different objects moved in the water, discovering which things floated, which sank, and how water could be pushed and poured in lots of different ways.

This hands-on fun helped develop fine motor skills, early scientific thinking, independence, and decision-making, all while keeping the children fully engaged and enjoying their watery adventures!

The children have been busy developing their maths skills through lots of fun, hands-on play. They enjoyed choosing a variety of resources independently and exploring them in their own way.

Through counting, sorting, matching, and comparing, the children discovered numbers and quantities while playing and experimenting. There was lots of excitement as they solved little problems, shared ideas, and showed pride in what they could do.

This playful approach helped build confidence, independence, and a love of early maths, making learning feel fun and engaging for everyone
