Nursery Weekly Newsletter 3.11.14

Term: Autumn 2
Date: 03.11.14

We hope you are feeling well rested after the break. We have some exciting activities planned for the next half term. The children have requested that the role play corner becomes a Bakers shop, so that will develop over the next few days. Our story of the week is ‘Colour me Happy’, our songs are ‘4 and 20 Blackbirds’ and ‘Humpy Dumpty’.

Our new topic is ‘Light and Dark’, we bring many aspects into this such as colours, nocturnal animals and celebrations. This week we will focus on the colours black and white.

Messages
  • We have noticed an improvement with less of the children bringing in toys from home, thank you for your support with this.
  • As the children have now settled so well, we will be issuing monthly certificates for all of the children that are always on the ‘Happy Face’. We want to ensure that we reward the children who are always listening and doing the right thing. Therefore on a monthly basis, if your child has constantly been on the happy face, they will receive an ‘I have made my teacher happy’ certificate.
  • We have a story telling workshop called ‘A story hunt-colour’ on Wednesday 5th November. This links into our topic. We have managed to book a morning and afternoon session, so your child’s session will continue as usual. Make sure you look out for the photos on Facebook.
  • We regularly update our EYFS blog. Please like our Broadford Primary Facebook page every time you see an EYFS blog. Feel free to make a comment on the children’s experiences.

The Nursery Team

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king's horses and all the King's men
Couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again

Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds,
Baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing;
Wasn't that a dainty dish,
To set before the king?

The king was in his counting house,
Counting out his money;
The queen was in the parlour,
Eating bread and honey.
The maid was in the garden,
Hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird
And pecked off her nose.
