Life's a Ball in Aspen

Yesterday morning Aspen class took part in Mr Portway's fabulous sports coach session. Excitedly and cheerfully, the children were led onto the KS2 playground. With swift instruction, the children were  ready to practise their ball catching and throwing skills. Passing the ball to and from each other and working collaboratively to complete the task. There were lots of laughing, running and chasing after runaway balls.

Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage are expected to be physically active for at least 180 minutes throughout the day and whilst play is essential, structured delivery has an important role to play.

By the end of the session the children were all feeling more confident passing the ball.
