Term: Summer 2                      Date: 17.07.17
Dear Parents,

The end of the year is close by, we trust your children have enjoyed their Reception Year.   We have enjoyed working with them and will miss them all.

The Tropical Wings Trip went well, thank you for all the parental support and also a big thank you to Danny’s Nan who bought every single child a pencil so that they had something to remember the day by.
We have some lost property (Which is not named) that we will leave outside for you to look through.  Please ensure you have taken home all of your child’s belonging including spare clothes and wellies.  Please note we also still have a missing Pirate hat, that belongs to Thomas.  Please check at if it was taken home in error.

Dates for your diary:
Go Bonkers: Wednesday 19th July, Inflatable Fun Day for the Children only.
Meet the Teacher: Thursday 20th July: (An opportunity for the children to meet their new teacher)
End of Year Picnic: Thursday 20th July 12.15pm, all parents and carers are welcome to attend the Reception End of Year picnic, please ensure you bring a picnic for yourself and child (unless you have discussed the matter with a member of staff).

Year 1 Transition:
As previously mentioned your children will be meeting their new class teacher on Thursday, furthermore they will spend their lunch time on the large field this week.
Now that your child is moving to year 1 they will be getting changed for PE.  Please ensure that they have a white t-shirt and navy blue shorts along with some plimsolls, in a PE bag, all items including the bag must be named, please bring this in in September.
Some parents have asked what they can be doing over the summer to prepare their child for year 1, please just keep reading with them every day.  Furthermore you need to ensure they know the red high frequency words, both sheets 1 and 2.  If they are confident readers this will ease their transition into year 1.  Please ask a member of staff if you need another copy of the red words
We hope you have a lovely restful summer and look forward to seeing you all in September.
