Nursery Newsletter 11.12.17

We hope those of you who were able to attend enjoyed the Bedtime story evening, the children certainly enjoyed preparing the treats! This week is another busy week with performances and Christmas jumper day. Christmas nativity will be performed at 9.15am for parents/carers of morning Nursery children and 2.15pm for parents/carers of afternoon Nursery children. Please remember the children should come to Nursery ready and dressed in their outfits (the boys can bring dressing gowns/tea-towels in a bag for the walk to school!).

Art
The children have glitter, glue and collage materials available to create their own snowy scenes. We are encouraging them to talk about their pictures and think about the resources they will need.

Mathematics
Supporting children to recognise numbers and count objects correctly. They can chose to count the 'snow' (cotton wool) and match it to the snowman cups.

Physical
We are supporting the children to develop balance skills using benches and tracks in PE sessions.

Mark Making
The children are using the postbox they made to post their own letters. We are encouraging them to recognise the letters in their name.

Communication and Language
Encouraging children to use simple sentences correctly.
Encouraging children to hold a conversation and respond to comments.

Understanding of the World
Talking about celebrations and families.

Personal and Social Development
Ensuring children are able to co-operate with routines and some boundaries.
Modelling the correct behaviours in play, ensuring children use resources well and begin to share with other children.

Messages and Dates
Please continue to email any photos of the children's achievements, activities they have completed at home or fun days out to eyfs@broadford.havering.sch.uk.

The EYFS Nativity (Nursery and Reception) will be at 9.15 on December 12th for Morning Nursery Parents and 2.15PM on December 12th for Afternoon Nursery Parents.
Christmas Jumper day is on Friday the 15th of December.
