Weekly Nursery Newsletter 29.06.15

We will be reading many texts this week including ‘Spot at the seaside’. We will be singing various songs in preparation for our Graduation Ceremony. Furthermore we have decided to revisit all of the phonics that we have covered for the next few weeks and focus on orally blending simply cvc words.
Personal, Social and Emotional
  • Enjoys responsibility of carrying out small tasks.
  • Can usually tolerate delay when needs are not immediately met, and understands wishes may not always be met.
  • Demonstrates friendly behaviour, initiating conversations and forming good relationships with peers and familiar adults.
Communication and Language
  • Joins in with repeated refrains and anticipates key events and phrases in rhymes and stories.
  • Is able to follow directions (if not intently focused on own choice of activity).
  • Focusing attention - still listen or do, but can shift own attention.
Literacy
  • Enjoys rhyming and rhythmic activities

  • Shows interest in the lives of people who are familiar to them.
  • Shows interest in the lives of people who are familiar to them.
  • Developing an understanding of growth, decay and changes over time.
Expressive Arts and Design
  • Beginning to be interested in and describe the texture of things.
  • Imitates movement in response to music.
  • Uses talk in pretending that objects stand for something else in play, e.g. 'This box is my castle.'
Nursery Learning Challenge Summer 2
Each half term we will be setting our pupils a challenge related to their learning, this is in line with the rest of the school. We believe that it is important for us to provide guidance for parents on how their children's learning can be extended at home.
The learning challenge will include either a nursery rhyme, illustration or a piece of music. Please talk to your child about the challenge and help them to engage in their learning. The children can choose how they present their learning challenge outcomes to their teacher or class however the table below details some ideas for the learning challenge.

Thank you to all of you who attended the picnic on Friday, I hope you will agree it was a success and we were very lucky with the Weather.
 
All of the dates for forth coming events were on the list you were given and are also stuck on the Nursery window.
 
If your child will be attending the reception class with us in September, please see Mrs King or Miss Taylor if you have not received you letter advising you of the start date and class that your child will be in.
