Team Work in Reception

At Broadford we recognise the importance of equipping the children with the skills they need to become effective life long learners. This half term we are focusing on developing reciprocity. This involves the children learning how to work in co-operation with others as well being able to work independently.

Here are some photos of us playing a game called 'musical islands'. The children had to work together to make sure every one was safe on an island when the music stopped. Slowly islands were removed which made the game much harder. The children had to use gentle hands to help each other reach the islands and stay safely on.

Here are some photos of the Reception children making pictures on the floor. They were only given one colour to make their pictures so had to ask the other children if they wanted a different colour. We spoke about sharing and making sure we used our good manners all the time when we spoke to other children and adults. The children worked together well and shared their resources to make some lovely pictures.
