Nursery Certificates W/B 03/02/25





This week, one child in Nursery has received an 'E for Excellence' certificate.

Well done to George who has been awarded an E for excellence in recognition of his  fantastic use of creativity when building an obstacle course in the garden for himself and all his friends. George independently used all the resources available to him from the outside shed. Well done George!



This week, one child in Nursery has received an 'I made my teacher happy' certificate.

Well done to Nicoly who has been awarded an I made my teacher happy this week because she has settled so well into her first half term in the nursery environment and shows enjoyment when accessing all the areas both inside and outside of the nursey. Well done Nicoly!



 

Reception Learning - W.C 3.2.25

 

Reception: What We Are Learning 

Reception have been working really hard this week. Our focus was Goldilocks and The Three Bears and Chinese New Year. 

Here is what we have been up to:The children have been listening to the stories, looking at kitchens old and new, learning about healthy eating, learning about the importance of the dragon in Chinese culture, participating in a dragon dance parade and watching Chinese New Year celebrations.



The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. In literacy we have been writing words about Goldilocks and The Three Bears. The children used their sound knowledge to write words including mum, dad, baby, she and of. Please continue to read 5 times a week with your children and work on set 1 sounds as well as word time words (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc). Watch this video for set  1 sound practise - Set 1 sounds

In Maths this week we have been learning about the numbers 6,7 and 8. We learnt about odd and even numbers, doubles and how to combine two groups to make one big number.

Reception E for Excellence

We have had a fantastic week of learning and there has been so much to celebrate and be proud of in Reception! 

These children worked extremely hard and have been rewarded for all of their determination and efforts.

Reception: What We Are Learning 

Reception have been working really hard this week. Our focus book was The Gingerbread Man. 

Here is what we have been up to:The children have been listening to the story, baking Gingerbread men, building bridges for The Gingerbread man and creating a new character to add to the story. 


The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. In literacy we have been writing words about The Gingerbread Man. The children used their sound knowledge to write words including pig, yum, rock, fox, cut and am. They also practised the red words I and was. Please continue to read 5 times a week with your children and work on set 1 sounds as well as word time words (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc). Watch this video for set  1 sound practise - Set 1 sounds


In Maths this week we have been learning about the numbers 6,7 and 8. We have sorted the numbers into different piles and used different representations to show each number.
