Meet our Digital Leaders!

Broadford Primary School introduces our Digital Leaders.

Meet Sophie, Charlie, Alice, Laicey, Naz, Adam, Fayo, Florence and Jessica!

They will be on hand throughout the year to support the school and children with anything technology related!

They have already supported Year 3 in their computing workshop in December and have videoed a football match (video pending!).

Thank you for all of your Number Day donations. The children enjoyed a fabulous Maths themed day and at the same time raised money for the NSPCC. This money will go towards helping change children’s childhoods across the UK. 

Nursery celebrate World Book Day

Nursery had a great time celebrating World Book Day last week.  Our story of the week was 'The tiger who came to tea'. After sharing the story the children were excited to discover the tiger was planning to visit us, they drew him lots of pictures and wrote their own invitations to make sure he knew where to come. 

The Tiger's visit made world book day extra special as we had our own tea party! Unfortunately he was a little greedy and had already eaten some of the snacks we had prepared but he saved just enough for us to share. In honor of our special guest the children helped to decorate our own Tiger inspired door and were very proud to put their mark making around the outside. 

During the day we spoke about our favorite stories and the children were encouraged to create their own pictures of their favorite characters. They had lots of great ideas and could recall so many of the stories we have shared. Stories are such an important part of our Nursery curriculum, they support children to learn new words, language, spark theie imagination and stimulate curiosity. Please make sure you continue to use our book cart and read stories to your children at home! 

Alder Class Celebrate World Book Day

Alder Class had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day. They took part in some fabulous activities and all of the costumes were amazing.  All the children were excited to have a chosen book read to them by the children in Year 4.

The children worked together to create a classroom door cover, we chose the book, The Gingerbread Man. We can’t wait to find out which classroom door cover will win...

Internet Safety in Reception

This week, we read the Internet Safety story, Buddy the Dog, to help us understand how to use the internet safely in a fun way. As we read the story we had to answer questions about Internet safety. We discussed what we should do to help Buddy’s friend Ben, as he played with his tablet and mobile phone in different scenarios.

Should you talk to strangers online?

We learnt and sang the ‘Use Your Tablet Safely’ song to help us make safe choices when we are online. After we spoke about the Internet safety rules and to remember to...

Always ask a grown up for help if you see anything strange or unusual on a tablet or mobile phone.

Reception love Number Day!

Wow what a lot of fun Number Day was! The children all looked fantastic in their Maths related outfits, thank you for the effort you put in as well as your donations towards the NSPCC.

The children enjoyed a day of Maths related fun. They played musical maths games, that involved getting into groups of certain numbers as well as building shapes from their bodies. There was a special game of number and shape bingo. We also worked our fine motor skills as we built 2D shapes from marshmallows and spaghetti.

Each class worked as a team to complete a special Number Day quiz. They had to find staff members to answer questions, add people together and count sides on shapes. Take a look at our video to see some of the fun we got up to. We cannot wait until next year!
