Nursery Newsletter

Term: Spring 1 Date 11.03.13

The children are still enjoying the ‘Amazing Animal’ topic.We had a surprise visit from Mrs Zebra last week (The lovely Mrs Chisholm in disguise). I hope the children came home and told you all the interesting facts they found out about Zebras. We will be relating our learning to the kinds of animals that we will see at Tropical Wings on Wednesday. So we will be covering all sorts of animals including mini-beasts. Our books for the week are ‘Little Rabbit Foo Foo’ and ‘Rosies Walk’.

Our songs for the week are ‘Five Little Ducks’, ‘Old Mcdonalds Farm’ and ‘Baa baa black sheep’.

Personal, Social and Emotional
• Being encouraged to listen and follow instructions.
• Being encouraged to join in at ‘Tidy up time’.
• Being encouraged to take part in circle time and talk about their trip.

Communication and Language
• Listening to stories.
• Singing songs.
• Playing language and rhyming games.

Physical Development:

• Listening to and taking part in action songs.
• Planning and construction home for pets.

• Counting using Nursery rhymes as an aid.

Expressive Arts and Design
• Making symmetrical butterfly prints.
• Making and using Little Rabbit Foo Foo character masks.
