Our learning fun this week:

This half term the children have been focused on developing their fine motor skills with mark making. We have been working towards marking people, using the knowledge we have gained about faces.

They also created an amazing aeroplane outside. The children placed the blocks together carefully and worked well as a team. They then used their imagination to fly to different destinations, we passed over snowy mountains and sunny beaches on our travels.

The children enjoyed exploring ramps with their cars outside this week.  Building ramps and experimenting with cars provides hands-on experience with force, motion, gravity, and friction.

The children have been showing the teachers their love of using scissors, snipping and cutting paper.

Over the half term the children have enjoyed showing their teachers what they can do. Many of the children have enjoyed marking pictures, letters, names and even words when showing off their skills to their teachers.

The children have been practising their counting using our fun maths games. Using cubes we have been learning our number bonds 0 to 10.

Over this half term the children have began making special friendships. We have been learning how to work together and solve problems with our friends and teachers.

We have been using loose parts to create our own faces in the tuff tray this week. The children have been very creative look at their impressive designs. They have also really enjoyed using the jewellery to dress up too!

The children have loved playing in the art area, being creative with colours and developing their fine motor skills using thick and thin paint brushes.

Thank you for an amazing start to the Autumn term, enjoy the holidays.

Well done to our amazing children for another great week of learning and fun within our nursery. The children are really enjoying accessing the nursery activities independently. Exploring the environment and having a go discovering and being creative with the resources.

The Art area was a big hit this week. We have been gluing and sticking leaves, sticks, pom poms and sequins, but most of all the children loved using the glue sticks to spread PVA glue all over their paper. We have been painting, learning how to mix paints to make new colours.  The children have practised their fine motor skills using pencils to make marks, draw and write their names.

The children have been showing their friends and teachers how big their imagination and creativity is this week as they have been building using blocks, Lego and the large wooden blocks. We have seen dinosaurs, policeman, towers, castles, scary monsters and buses, to name a few. The children have demonstrated great focus whilst creating their imaginative play with their friends.

We love counting! The children have been counting 0-10 during their play. From singing number songs, organising numerals, matching objects to numerals and during their play in the garden. We are great learners.

This weeks story of the week was Alan's big scary teeth. The children learned more about emotions, being kind to others and about friendships. We also enjoyed our special visits to the library and Mrs coming down to read books in class. From our favourite five books, to pop up and counting books. We love reading and listening to stories at nursery.

The children have been listening to the book, 'The leaf Thief' this week and have been using leaves and sticks in their play, from building, creating a ladder, to art work. We have enjoyed the change in weather from sunshine to rain. The children have enjoyed wearing overalls and wellies to play in the splash pool, jumping in puddles, using resources to travel the canals and pouring water from jugs on the water wall. We had fun in the rain. With the rain coming down the children have discovered a love for the mud kitchen. Wearing aprons, overalls and wellies the children have been busy making cakes, pies, tea and breakfast for their friends and teachers.

We have so much fun at nursery, we can't wait for next week!
