Reception Learning Journey 6.10.23

Reception Learning Journey
Week of 2nd-6th October

This week we have been reading the story Elmer and discussing how wonderful it is to be different! We have used collage, painting and colouring to create patchwork Elmer's and elephant masks to use in our play. Some vocabulary we have focused on this week is herdunique, patchwork and celebrate

We have been continuing to explore different areas in our classrooms, using our imagination and new learning at school to create, observe and discuss. Outside, we've engaged our fine and gross motor skills by riding bikes, digging in the mud kitchen and pouring from containers in the water area. Ask your child about their favourite area to play in at school!

This week in maths our focus was on matching and sorting based on colour, size and shape.

The phonics sounds we learnt this week are c, k, u, b, f.  Please continue to practice these sounds at home with your child and bring their reading folder in on their reading day.

Thankyou for your continued support in our learning journey,
The Reception Team
