Dear Parents,
We were very excited to see some of the butterflies hatching from the cocoons at the end of last week, the children have been interested to track the life cycle of the butterflies.
This week the children will be reading the text ‘Titch’ which is a text about a young boy and his siblings. The children will be looking at their baby photos and talking about changes, similarities and differences.

Walking down the ramp:
It is that time of year when we start to encourage the children to develop their independence skills even further and walk down the ramp with their peers. If you feel you child is ready, please encourage them to do so. Parents and carers can stand at the top of the ramp and watch them walk safely in their classrooms. This usually helps with the transition in Year 1.
On Friday 18th May we will be celebrating the Royal wedding and writing invitations.

ELG: Children know about similarities and differences in relation to places, objects, materials and living things.
ELG: They talk about the features of their own immediate environment and how environments might vary from one another.

Learning Challenge
Each half term we will be setting our pupils a challenge related to their learning. We believe that it is important for us to provide guidance for parents on how their children's learning can be extended at home.
The learning challenge will include either a nursery rhyme, famous person, illustration or a piece of music. Please talk to your child about the challenge and help them to engage in their learning. The children can choose how they present their learning challenge outcomes to their teacher or class. Please find some ideas in the table below. Please ensure the completed challenge is handed in to your child’s teacher by Monday 21st May, so that the certificates can be prepared.
