Pre-School Photo Opportunity – Monday 13t July

On Monday 13th July, we would like to invite the parents and carers of our pre-school children (those who will be starting Reception in September) to join us from 10.45 am or 2:30 pm for a special photo opportunity.

This is a lovely chance to take some photographs of your child with their friends before they move on to school.

Please remember that not all of our children have permission for their photographs to be shared. If you would like to take group or friendship photos that include other children, please make sure you have the permission of their parent or carer before sharing those images.

Thank you for helping us respect every family's privacy.

Before the children break up for the summer, those who will be joining our Reception class in September enjoyed a special transition morning. They had a wonderful time meeting their new teachers, exploring their new classroom, and discovering the exciting outdoor learning area. The children approached the morning with enthusiasm and curiosity, and it was lovely to see their confidence growing as they became familiar with their new surroundings. We are so proud of how well they embraced this important step and know they are looking forward to lots more fun, play, and learning in Reception next year.

Before setting sail for the summer, we enjoyed a fantastic pirate-themed day filled with fun and adventure! The children loved dressing up as pirates and using their imaginations as they took part in exciting role-play activities. One of the highlights of the day was walking the plank, where the children showed great confidence and had lots of laughs. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in, working together, and creating so many happy memories.

The children also became real pirate explorers by creating their very own treasure maps! They used tea bags to stain the paper, giving it an old, weathered look just like a real pirate's map. Once the paper had dried, they drew winding paths leading to hidden treasure. This creative activity sparked lots of imaginative conversations and helped develop the children's fine motor skills as they designed their maps.

Our hardworking pirates have also been busy helping to scrub the decks! Using lots of soapy water and sponges, the children worked together to clean our pretend pirate ship and chairs, just like real sailors. This fun, hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, developed gross motor skills, and provided plenty of opportunities for imaginative play. There were lots of smiles, splashes, and laughter as everyone worked hard to make the ship sparkle!

With another week of beautiful sunshine, we made the most of the warm weather by enjoying our paddling pool outdoors. The children had great fun splashing, pouring, and exploring the water together, helping them to stay cool while developing their confidence and coordination. Water play provided lots of opportunities for conversation, sharing, and problem-solving as the children experimented with different containers and toys. It was a wonderful way to enjoy the sunshine and round off another busy week in Nursery.
