Early Years News
Happy New Year!!
We hope you are had an enjoyable Christmas break and are looking forward to term ahead. When we return next week, our topic will be based around healthy eating. Just to remind you, we will be kick starting this topic with two important events:
Our first Stay and Play session in 2014 is on Wednesday 8th January at 9.30 am. There is a public health presentation for parents with children in Nursery and Reception. This will be based around encouraging parents to make the correct food choices for their children.
At the end of the meeting, you are invited to come down to the classrooms and spend some time with your child taking part in some healthy choice activities, such as: preparing snacks, making smoothies, and joining in with our '5-a-day fitness' programme.
As this is open to all Nursery and Reception parents, children who attend the afternoon session are welcome to come to the morning instead. The afternoon session will still be open for parents who are unable to make the meeting.
Sponsored Keep Fit Session - Thursday 9th January at 3.30pm. We will once again be holding our sponsored keep fit session with Mrs Light. Please come along and join in with Mrs Light's excellent keep fit routines.
Thank you for your continued support.

The Igloo Challenge
In Aspen class the children were challenged to build igloos out of sugar cubes. After several attempts, different techniques and plenty of perseverance Adam and SummerRose completed the challenge. What great determination! Once they became the experts, Adam and SummerRose supported the other children with building igloos.
Christmas Jumpers
The Reception classes were full of Christmas cheer on Friday. The children looked great in their festive jumpers, hats and reindeer headbands. Throughout the day, the children completed many festive activities whilst singing along to some festive tunes.

Outside Music session
What a great way to end the week! Miss Morris led a music session outside using our fantastic music area. All the children had the opportunity to play the instruments and enjoyed singing some seasonal songs.
