It takes A Real Hero to Stand up To Hunger

#wescarehunger

On Thursday 12th June we are holding a food drive in school to support our local foodbank. This is part of the Free the Children charity, ‘We Scare Hunger’ campaign. Millions of people around the world go hungry every day, even in the UK. Together, we can help feed people in need, build a stronger neighbourhood and stop hunger before it strikes.

As it takes a real hero to stand up to hunger next Thursday we are asking all pupils to come to school dressed as their favourite superhero and bring in an item of long life food from the following list;

Milk (UHT or powdered)
Sugar (500g)
Fruit juice (carton)
Soup
Pasta sauces
Sponge pudding (tinned)
Tomatoes (tinned)
Cereals
Rice pudding (tinned0
Tea bags / Instant coffee
Instant mash potato
Tinned meat / fish
Tinned fruit
Jam
Biscuits or snack bars

There will be prizes for best costume and for the class who donate the most food.

Keep an eye on the blog for more information and updates about the campaign.
