Reception Christmas Crafts

The Reception children had a fabulous afternoon today as it was Christmas craft afternoon.  They were like Santa's little helpers as they
decorated biscuits and made beautiful pine cone decorations. The children demonstrated great creative skills and resourcefulness.
Aimen said "I need googly eyes so it looks like a face"
Faye said "I decorated a real Christmas Tree at home"

This time of year we carry out many Christmas related activities, however this is an ongoing process and throughout the year we feel it is important to explore and celebrate various other religions and cultures too.
The EYFS values the role that festivals and celebrations play in supporting children’s learning and development in every area of learning, and through them parents and practitioners can support children in beginning to understand the commonalities of human values that are shared by all cultures and religions.  We are sure you will agree that it is important for children to  have a knowledge about others beliefs so that children understand one another’s cultures and beliefs in a world that’s so diverse and vibrant.
