Nursery have had a lovely time exploring the enhancements to the Home Corner this week. Mirrors have allowed us to explore our reflections and have made using our costume jewelry to dress up even more exciting. Adding real food, scales and real cups has encouraged the children to carefully look after the resources as they understand they are real. With adult support we have learnt how to handle them carefully and it has encouraged children to slow down and think about the different ways they can use items. It has also enabled us to develop important cutting skills.
We are trying to ensure we use authentic resources and are still looking for; bangles, beads, recipe books, keys/padlocks and any old clothes (shirts, dresses, fabric) we can use for dressing up. If you have any items hidden in drawers at home we would appreciate any donations!
