Nursery special events:

This week the children have enjoyed our dress up pirate day. We listened to stories, searched for buried treasure and created our own treasure maps and pirate hats. The children developed their knowledge about life at sea and used the small world resources to enhance their imaginative story telling. The children have loved singing our pirate song; Over The Deep Blue Sea

This weeks focus topic:

This week we have been learning about Pirates, with our story of the week: 10 little pirates

This week we had fun:

Our super imaginative pirate role play using the small world resources. We have been having so much fun.

The children have been practicing counting and matching numerals using our pirate coins.

We have enjoyed collecting and counting our pirate treasure. We were very careful not to get caught in the pirate trap.

The children have made their very own pirate eye patches with help from their teacher.

The children have shown a special interest in searching and identifying different insects in the garden. They have been catching insects, then drawing them using chalk. Emir looked through the books to find a picture of his insect shouting "look a spider".

Ten Town Focus

This week the children have been learning about Eric Eight from ten town. We have practiced forming our number 8 formation and our number bonds to 8.

Transitions:

This week our reception teachers have been reading stories in Nursery. We have enjoyed meeting the reception teachers. We are all looking forward to visiting the reception classrooms and play ground next week.

Moments to share:

Ayo was excited to tell her friends and teachers all about her special trip to Legoland with her family. She showed everyone her special photograph and told us about the fun water ride. Thank you Ayo for sharing your special memories from your fun day out.
