Year Reception: What We Are Learning 

Our focus book was Room on the Broom:

Here is what we have been up to:

The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. The children have learnt the sound nk and revised previously taught sounds this week. Please continue to read with your children and work on these sounds with them. 

In Topic, we have been reading the story Room on the Broom. Reception worked hard to sort rhyming words into the correct rhyming spider’s web. The children were able to guess what costume their teachers were describing from the clues. They danced to Ghostbusters and moved like the different animals. The children also made fairy wands using sticks and leaves. Well done Reception! 

In Maths this week the children have been learning how to find 1, 2, 3. They also worked hard to subitise 1, 2 and 3 and to represent the numbers 1, 2 and 3. Well done Reception for your hard work in Maths this week.

'Marvellous Me' Day 

The children came to school wearing clothes of their choice. They wore their favourite outfits, clothes in their favourite colours or clothes that represented something about them.

They could also bring their favourite toy to school. They talked about their favourite toys during circle time when they shared their favourite toys with their class.
