  • Nursery closes Tuesday 19th December for Christmas holidays
  • Nursery reopens Thursday 4th January 2024

Notice:
The nursery team would like to remind parents:
Please leave a bag with a spare set of clothing at nursery. This bag should be a labelled drawstring bag or a carier bag.
As we do not have space for rucksacks, from January childrens rucksacks will be returned and belongings placed in a carrier bag. Rucksacks take up space on pegs making it challenging for the children to access their belongings.

We would also like to remind parents toys from home are not allowed in the nursery. They can be dangerous, cause incidents over sharing and the children become very upset when they get lost or damaged.

Thank you for your understanding

Christmas dinner:

This week the Nursery children had their very first Broadford christmas dinner. We went to the school hall and sat with our teachers as we had fun pulling crackers and wearing christmas hats. We tried a selection of food including yorkshire puddings, potatoes, peas, carrots and turkey/ vegetable puff pie. But best of all we had icecream for dessert. Even if we didnt eat everything, we all had a taste and had fun during our new experience.

Play this week:

Lapland day

The children had lots of fun doing all things christmas during our annual Lapland day at Broadford Primary. We decoratrated stars for our christmas trees, created biscuit masterpieces, listened to christmas stories with our year 4 helpers and made food for Santa's reindeers.

Post box magic

The children have spent the last few weeks making and decorating their own christmas card for their families. We had so much fun we even decorated the envelopes. We listen to the story The Jolly Postman to get ready for our big rip to the post box. The nursery children were all super excited to go on an adventure to find the magic post box to post their letters. on our journeys we discussed the post box, how letters are delivered via a post person and all the things we saw on our way (busses, dogs, cars). The children had the best time posting their letters through the post box themselves.

We have been using our creative minds to create baubles using marbles and paint. The children loved moving the tray causing, the marbles to move and roll the paint  arounf the paper. An amazing way to learn cause and affect.

Everyone has been enjoying the garden this week, inventing our own games using the nursery resources. From football goals, the floor is lava and making fairy castles in the sand pit. We have been busy using our creative minds.

Inside the classroom some of the children have been practicing their marking skills. The children have been practiving to mark letters in their name and draw pictures for their family and their teachers.

To all of our nursery children, parents and their families, The Nursery team would like to say and big thank you to everyone for all your help and support we have recieved this term. We look forward to all the new adventures after the new year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
