Model saying hooray with hands in the air and an excited face as you say “Hooray for Easter Day!”

Mothers Day

Subitising 1 – Show me 1, 2, 3

Small steps

  1. Model showing 1,2,3 on fingers and match to corresponding numeral

  2. Sing number rhymes to recognise 1,2,3

This week in our mark making area, we provided glitter and paint brushes and kitchen utensils in the sand to support their fine motor skills. The children loved mark making using the messy play resources and watching their marks disappear with one quick flick of the paint brush. There were mark making cards to give the children a focus if they wanted it, which so children really enjoyed using.

Physical Development
The children are practising their physical development using equipment from around the school. This week was the first time They have used the train which is located at the bottom of the school field. They were super excited to venture out as most of the children had only ever been in the Nursery. We focused on how to use the equipment safely, looking at getting on and off independently, before the children could explore the trail and work out what they could do. We are hoping to do this regularly with the children as they enjoyed it so much!

Our little architects have been busy this week creating all sorts of structures using our blocks. This is an example of when one child started building by her self, which encouraged others to come over and join in with their play

To get ready for our Mother's Day brunch, The children helped to bake a cake. After washing their hands (thoroughly, we promise!) The children took turns to help measure out the ingridents  and mix them together. They loved being part of the process and were so excited to see how the cake had risen when it came out of the oven.
