Nursery Learning- 4.4.25

Important dates:

7th April- 22nd- School closed

Children are back to school on Tuesday 22nd April

The children created their own delicious Easter Nests this week. The children worked together to crush the shreddies and break the chocolate. They then counted to ten when we passed the bowl around to stir the mixture and were very excited when the mixture cooled and their cakes were ready!
"I stir all the way round" Malik
"Lots of chocolate!" Rosie

This week we noticed that the tulips were starting to flower. The children have been very good and taking care of the flowers and have remembered to help water them every session. They have also sown vegetable seeds and helped to label these.
"Big red one!" Theo
"They like the sunshine.." Rex

The children have used natural resources to create their own outside art in our Tuff tray. They have manipulated materials discussing their pictures and have enjoyed using the round boards as pretend faces.
"Let's put the sticks here for a smile" Austin

Excitedly, Nursery set off for an Easter egg hunt. They travelled around the trail outside travelling over and under the equipment. They had to complete actions after each egg found e.g. hop 5 times.

The children have had lots of fun outside developing their balance and co-ordination skills. We have used the hands and feet stickers to create different courses that the children have had to follow.

Inside we set up ramps for the cars to race down. We added numbers to the track to encourage the children to discuss which car had reached the furthest and reached the highest number.

On Friday we celebrated World Language and Culture Day. The children came in looking FABULOUS! Lots of children wore traditional clothing from their culture and others wore bright colours or their favourite outfit. In Nursery we learnt about Moldova and Romanian language. We were lucky to have our expert, Mrs Luca, who could share her knowledge with the children.

Mrs Luca did some baking with the children, making traditional Romanian doughnuts called Gogosi which the children loved!

Mrs Luca shared a traditional children's story with the class, translating what was happening. Even though the story was in Romanian, the children were engrossed and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We ended the day by doing part of a traditional dance, holding hands and travelling in different directions around the room.

We hope everyone has a lovely break and look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 22nd April
