Dear Parents and Carers, Term: Spring 1

As you are all aware, the Government has updated us with new guidance and we have moved to remote learning for this term. Our remote learning will be posted using the school blog page and available on our Facebook page. We are in the process of creating G-Suite logins for all of the Reception children so they are able to access daily live inputs from staff who are familiar to them each day.  Alongside this, videos will be posted to promote engagement.

We encourage you to send two pieces of work each day which can be submitted using the  Evidence Me app, or emailing the EYFS mailbox at eyfs@broadford.havering.sch.uk . Teachers will then provide feedback and children (and adults) can ask their teachers questions. Some examples of submitted work are pictures, drawings, writing, video clips or creative work which can be sent as a photo or a video clip using the Evidence Me app.Evidence Me Guide

Whilst child-led play is important, boundaries and clear expectations should be upheld throughout the play, for example, expectation to put toys away (in Reception, we say, “Choose it, use it, put it away”).

We encourage independent skills and managing basic hygiene and personal needs successfully. From putting on and taking off clothes, coats, shoes and socks. Making your own snack, such as buttering toast and pouring drinks from jugs.

Helpful Websites:

There are lots of new and updated websites providing additional online learning and support during this period of school closure.

Be kind to yourself throughout these unprecedented times and remember we are always here to help and support you.

Please email us at eyfs@broadford.havering.sch.uk, contact us using your Evidence Me app or please contact the school office on 01708 342880. If you have any queries or questions.

Best wishes,

The Reception Team
