Maths in the Early Years

The children have been enjoying our daily maths sessions in Reception and it is great to see the progress they have made. They have been practicing the skills they have learnt in their play; look at some of the activities they have been completing recently.

Polina made her own repeating pattern.

The children were able to match a quantity to a numeral and showed 1:1 correspondence.
They have been playing games and counting our scores. They've even began to record their scores.

They have been building with and exploring 3D shapes, they have been able to spot the 2D shapes we learnt about in the faces.
Finding and ordering numbers outside.
Making pictures with 2D shapes.
Counting using instruments!
