Messy Play in Aspen

We had lots of fun in Aspen class in the week before half term. First the children had the chance to investigate and  explore pumpkins. They scooped out the inside with various tools and separated the pumpkin seeds using tweezers. In the malleable area the children were busy rescuing plastic cockroaches from blue jelly bath. Over the last few weeks we have been encouraging the children to ask how and why questions, both areas encouraged the children to ask some very thoughtful questions.
How can I make a tower? Billy

Why does the water disappear? Bobby

Why is it so hard outside? Can I grow a pumpkin? Leanne
Why does it stick? How can I get it out?
How can I get this out of the pumpkin? Hayden
