Reception Newsletter 11.03.19

Term: Spring 2               Date: 11.03.19

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for all your efforts last week for World Book Day. The children looked fantastic and had a wonderful day of literacy themed activities. They enjoyed reading with older pupils and loved decorating their classroom doors.

This week we will be reading ‘Ten Rules of being a Superhero.’ We will be creating our own Superhero training school with a variety of skills, tasks and challenges to be completed over the week.

It is our Literacy stay and Learn session on Tuesday morning at 9.05am. We look forward to welcoming everyone back into our classrooms again.

We will be visiting Jump Evolution on Tuesday 19th March as our trip for the term. Thank you to everybody who has already filled out the form (via the blog or facebook) and paid using their sQuid account. If you have any problems please speak to your class teacher or the office staff if it is about sQuid. Thank you!

Communication and Language
We will be discussing what we want to be when we grown up with our friends. We will be listening closely to others answers.

Physical DevelopmentWe will be developing our Superhero skills through our Superhero School training activities. Some will involve speed, others balance. We will be throwing, jumping, running as well as creating our own capes.

Maths
This weeks number is 18. Perhaps you can spot the number at home or outside. This week we will be introducing subtraction practically to the children.

Literacy
We will be writing our own rules for being a superhero as well as writing about what we want to be when we grow up.
