EYFS: Parent and Carer Blog; #SaferInternetDay and Havering’s Virtual Library

“Earlier this year Safer Internet Day conducted research about the time that young people spend online and found that, 77% of young people have spent more time playing online games and apps during the pandemic than ever before.”

On Tuesday 8th February 2022 it is #SaferInternetDay 2022. Celebrated globally with the slogan “Creating an internet we trust”, the day provides a fantastic opportunity to engage with children about their digital lives.

Safer Internet Day 2022 celebrates young people’s role in creating a safer internet and the ways they are shaping the interactive entertainment spaces they are a part of. The platforms young people use are spaces for connection, community and collaboration, which is why the Day challenges them to foster supportive relationships and respectful communities, whilst equipping them with the skills they need to keep themselves and others safe in these spaces.

Here you can access a range of resources for parents and carers around safe internet using in the home. #PlayYourPart
