Book of the week

The children have enjoyed a selection of stories linked to Easter with the themes of new beginnings, eggs and learning about the Christian Easter Story. They particularly enjoyed this story: We’re Going on an Egg Hunt, which has a similar theme with repetitive language to We’re going on a Bear Hunt.

Nursery rhyme of the week

This week the children continued to learn Hot Cross Buns, here are the lyrics:

Hot cross buns!

Hot cross buns!

One ha’ penny, two ha’ penny,

Hot cross buns!

If you have no daughters,

Give them to your sons

One ha’ penny,

Two ha’ penny,

Hot Cross Buns!

This weeks learning

This week’s learning has involved:

  • Using different resources to create tulip paintings

  • Meeting the new key worker Miss Jessica who will cover Miss St Louis.

  • Completing puzzles

  • Celebrating Miss St Louis’ upcoming baby girl with a (biodegradable) pink confetti explosion!

Hello Miss Jessica!

2 year old focus

This week the two year olds have focussed on:

  • Story: How a Seed Grows

The children enjoyed acting out the different steps in order to plant and water a seed.

  • Nursery Rhyme: Humpty Dumpty

  • Shape hunt: The children focussed on the shape, circle, after talking about the shape the children had to hunt for anything that they could find in the garden that has a circle shape.

Easter Bonnet Parade

Nursery went down to the hall to parade their bonnets to Head Teacher, Mrs Nicholls, and Assistant Head Teacher, Mrs Stanley; sang Hot Cross Buns and Wind the Bobbin Up.

Focus child Meetings

Each week children will be chosen to be observed by their keyworker. Emails will be sent home to inform parents of the upcoming parent meeting taking place the following week, either in person or via telephone. Parents will have an opportunity to complete a form asking questions and sharing concerns they may have for the key worker to answer during the parent meeting. This form will be sent via email. Please check your emails weekly for school communications and evidence me parents share from your children's teachers. Parents are welcome to upload pictures and videos of their children at home.
