Nursery: w/b 21st March 2022 - Our learning this week

Book of the week

The children have enjoyed a selection of stories linked to Easter with the themes of new beginnings, eggs and learning about the Christian Easter Story. They discussed how some of characters in the story were not honest and that others were in the blue or red zone.

Nursery rhyme of the week

This week the children have enjoyed singing Hot Cross Buns, here are the lyrics:

Hot cross buns!

Hot cross buns!

One ha’ penny, two ha’ penny,

Hot cross buns!

If you have no daughters,

This weeks learning

This week’s learning has involved:

  • Singing, dancing and playing instruments along to music outside

  • Listening to stories read by other children

  • Relaxing in the garden

  • Mixing sand and water

  • Junk modelling outside

  • Marble Art


2 year old focus

This week the two year olds have focussed on:

  • Story: The Very Hungry Caterpillar; 

The children had to choose their favourite story from the basket; the majority of children chose The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

  • Nursery Rhyme: The wheels on the bus

Blue group welcomed Mason back to nursery whose favourite song was The Wheels on the Bus. 

  • The children learnt some prepositions with props (including on and under).

  • Expressive arts and design: the children explored a range of sound makers and instruments as well as exploring marble paintings.




Focus child Meetings

Each week children will be chosen to be observed by their keyworker. Emails will be sent home to inform parents of the upcoming parent meeting taking place the following week, either in person or via telephone. Parents will have an opportunity to complete a form asking questions and sharing concerns they may have for the key worker to answer during the parent meeting. This form will be sent via email. Please check your emails weekly for school communications and evidence me parents share from your children's teachers. Parents are welcome to upload pictures and videos of their children at home. 


Key Information

  • Please LABEL  all your children's belongings, including both shoes. 

  • When the weather is forecast to be hot and sunny please provide a named hat for your child and dress them in summer appropriate clothing.

  • Please ensure your child has high factor water suncream on before attending school

  • Easter Bonnet Parade - 1st April 2022

  • Last day of term - 1st April 2022

  • End of term (Easter break) - 04th to 18th April 2022

  • Bank holiday- 02nd May 2022- School closed

  • Polling day- 05th May 2022- School closed

  • PCSO nursery visit (police cars) - 11th May 2022

  • Half- term holidays - 30th to 3rd June 2022

  • INSET day- 6th June 2022- School closed

  • Last day of term - 22nd July 2022
