Marvellous Maths in Reception
This week we compared mass using everyday items. We made direct comaprisons by holding items to estimate which is the heaviest and which is the lightest and using balance scales.
The children were given opportunities to explore and discuss weight, including the common misconception that larger items are always heavier.
Ryan: " This is the lighter side"
Issam: "It's the same!"
Adam: "This box is heavier"
Jaxon: "Let's make this side heavier"
