This weeks focus topic:
This week we have continued our under the sea theme with a Broadford 105 book called, 'The Rainbow fish'. The children have enjoyed listening to the story and like sharing their knowledge and ideas about the book. The main theme of the story is about sharing with others, making friends and our feelings.
The children have demonstrated their knowledge of the book during their play, using playdough to create their own rainbow fish. We have used a variety of mediums in the art area to make our own colourful fish artwork.
This week we had fun:
This week the children had lots of fun showing off their imaginative play. We created fun role play games using different resources to test our ideas and have fun, sharing ideas and helping friends:
All aboard the Broadford nursery train... Choo! Choo! Emir the train driver has taken the children on a tour of the classroom.
In the home corner we made lots of yummy food. Eden sharing his tasty soup, whilst Amelia and Patrick cooked and shared rice with each other and their friends.
James shared his idea with his friends to make a slide. After many attempts using different resources, they finally created a slide which worked, Yay! Go team! All the children had fun thanks to James and his great idea.
The children have been working their muscles moving the tyres around the garden. We have been rolling, lifting, working together and helping others to achieve their goals. Leonor was very kind to her friends, asking how she can help.
This week the children have been discussing the foods they like to eat and how we keep healthy. We discussed a variety of fruits, including apples, oranges and berries, with many children sharing their love for making smoothies.
I spy with our little eyes...
This week we spotted the children independently creating structures using puzzle and rainbow pieces. The children had fun experimenting how they could balance the pieces to see who could create the tallest tower.
Wow, we are amazing story tellers!
This week the children unexpectedly found an egg in the nursery garden. They were excited to show the mysterious egg to all their teachers and friends. The children were fascinated by the mystery and began imagining different ways the egg came to be. We heard stories about dinosaurs, birds and broken bags, as well as role play detective games to search the garden for more eggs. We were delighted to hear the children demonstrate their knowledge of literacy within their story telling. Understanding stories have a beginning, middle and an end, creating characters and how they feel as the story progresses. James imagined a mummy dinosaur lost their egg and would be sad until they got it back, so he began looking for dinosaur foot prints to help the egg find its way home.
We have so much fun listening and creating stories with our teachers, especially using puppets.
Ten Town Focus
This week the children have been learning about Seal six from ten town. We have practiced forming our number 6 formation and our number bonds to 6.
A big thank you
The children would like to say a big thank you for all the lovely toys and clothing donations we have received recently. We appreciate your kindness.
