Notice:
The nursery team would like to remind parents:
Please leave a bag with a spare set of clothing at nursery. This bag should be a labelled drawstring bag or a carier bag.
As we do not have space for rucksacks, from January childrens rucksacks will be returned and belongings placed in a carrier bag. Rucksacks take up space on pegs making it challenging for the children to access their belongings.
We would also like to remind parents toys from home are not allowed in the nursery. They can be dangerous, cause incidents over sharing and the children become very upset when they get lost or damaged.
Thank you for your understanding
Book of the week:
This week marks the final week of our farm topic. We have been reading a variety of books from Farmer Duck to The Little Red Hen in preperation for our farm visit. The children especially loved listening to The greedy Goat. The children have also loved rereading what the ladybird heard.

Number day:
This week the children took part in number day. We all had great fun dressing up with numbers and playing number games. Some of the children had a go at writing numerals as well as doing simple addition. We had so much fun!
Congradulations to Daman for Winning 'the most imaginative dressed' competition.
Spring enrichment oppurtunities:
The children have been looking forward to our farm visit and this week they were finally able to meet the animals and their keepers to learn all about them. We loved handling some of the animals and learning about the sounds they make and how they live. We saw ducks, rabbits, ferrets, chickens, sheep, goats, a pony and a dog. The children took turns brushing the animals hair, petting them softly and playing catch with the dog. We all had so much fun!
This week we have been encoraging the children to write their own names on their artwork. They have been using their name prompts in the writing area for letter recognition support and developing their pencil grips and letter formation with a variety of writing tools.
The children have absolutely loved Junk modelling this week. They have been very creative with their ideas and help each other to make their ideas come to life.
