Nursery learning- 09.02.2024

Important information

  • Bed time story books are to be returned every Thursday  and sent home on Fridays. Please remove all artwork from folders, only books to be returned please.
  • Please ensure all children have a labelled plastic or drawstring bag on their pegs with spare clothes.
  • There is no provision for children to bring food from home to eat during AM and PM sessions. Please do not provide children with food. The nursery provides fruit for children to snack on during their sessions. This is to ensure children are correctly supervised when eating, do not share food and prevents those with allergies accessing food they may react too.

An emotional farewell to Ms Chappel:

This Friday we said our goodbyes to Ms Chappel, who is now on maternity leave to have her baby. The children had lots of fun playing baby games and guessing the babies gender. We loved seeing the gifts from the nursery team and have cuddles. When asked where she was going Ronnie had the best response ever..... "to the toilet".  Congratulations and we wish you all the best and can't wait to meet our new nursery baby.

Special words From Ms Chappel:

Dear Parents/Carers and all my lovely Nursery children,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for making my time in nursery so enjoyable. My baby bump has been super lucky to have lots of cuddles and strokes (and a few pokes) as it has grown over the months and the children have made me laugh and smile constantly with their interest in the baby and their name suggestions... I'm not sure that Spiderman will make the final short list but it has been suggests quite a few time! Baby is due at the very beginning of March so I hope to share photos when they arrive so the children can see who the have been showering with affection for all these months. And when the baby is a bit bigger, we will come and say hi.

I will miss the children so much but I look forward to seeing them on my return

Love

Ms Chappel

Nursery stay and play:

Thank you to all the parents who were able to make our nursery stay and play this week. This week our focus was on Maths in the early years, the children learned all about the number Zero via our maths programme Ten town.
we hope the parents enjoyed all of the activities the children have enjoyed this week and were able to gain an understanding of their learning in nursery.

Mental heath Express yourself day:

The children were super excited to dress up and wear colourful colours to express themselves. Our clothing provided great opportunities for discussions around our emotions, things we like and our special interests.

Play this week:

This week the children had so much fun within the nursery, from cutting with scissors, role play with our new small world play houses to artwork with glitter and glue. We have enjoyed a messy play week. The weather has been wet and cold but the children have enjoyed splashing in muddy puddles in the mud kitchen.

Thank you for another amazing week.

The Nursery Team
