Nursery and Reception: School Closure

 Dear Parents and Carers,

Many of you will already have seen this post but as some of you are new to the school and still navigating the nursery and reception blogs, we wanted to repost this on the EYFS area to ensure you all see it.

As you are aware we have unfortunately this week had to close the year 3 bubble due to a single confirmed case.

Unfortunately, we now have to advise parents/carers that the school will be closed for ALL pupils from Monday 16th November - Wednesday 25th November with a return to school on Thursday 26th November. The reason for this decision is because we have been made aware late this afternoon that a member of staff has tested positive for Covid-19. This means that now there are a number of senior staff members, who in line with government guidelines, are required to self isolate.

I would like to emphasis that the staff concerned do not have any symptoms and pupils do not need to self isolate unless they are in year 3. All year 3 pupils must continue to stay at home to self isolate until the 23rd November.

I want to assure you that the safety of you and your children is of paramount importance and in any decision that I have to make I will never put you or your child's wellbeing at risk. I will always do my very best to give you as much notice as possible should your child have to remain at home. Though I am sure you will appreciate, sometimes decisions have to be made at very short notice.

I have to say that the situation this afternoon emphasises the importance of all of us doing our part to combat this virus.

As always, I would like to remind you that should your child or any member of your household develop the following symptoms;

  • A new continuous cough
  • A high temperature
  • A loss of or change to taste/smell
You must immediately stay at home to isolate and book a test.

During the school closure please be assured that we are committed to continuing the learning journey for our pupils. Teachers will be in contact on Monday morning regarding work for your children. This will primarily be available via the google classroom, the school blog (which can be accessed via our school website) and our social media platforms.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and the continuous support you have provided for the school during these most challenging times.
