 Aliens love Underpants.

Dear Parents and Carers, 

3,2,1 days and counting... not long now and we will be back to school!  Thank you for your continued support throughout the school closure. We have loved seeing all of the work our children have been completing at home. Thank you for sharing via email and parent postcards. School reopens on 

Thursday 26th November 2020. (Usual timings of 8:30-8:40am for sibling drop offs and 8:40am for all other Reception children)

Phonics 

This week’s phonic sounds sessions have been shared using Evidence Me. Please email us at eyfs@broadford.havering.sch.uk if you are unable to access your Parent Shares. Please note that we have added the Word Time Reading and Spelling sessions. 

After your feedback last week, We have also added the Learning to Blend videos too. 

At this stage your child is segmenting the letters ---- c-a-t but then saying another word, e.g. sounding out c-a-t and saying the word mat! This is a developmental stage to learning to blend and you may find the additional links in the document useful!

Number 8 and More and Less

Learn all about the number 8: Number 8 Go on a number hunt for the number 8. Can you find different ways to make and record the number 8?	What do you notice about the photos? Which one has more and which one has less jelly beans?   Can you explain which side has more or less aliens? More or less	Using any objects that you have around the house, such as sweets, fruit or pencils, split the objects into two sets. Can you say what set has more and what one has less?     Repeat with different amounts. Each day use different objects and different amounts.

As part of this topic we discuss and recap the rules when using the bathroom and discuss the Underwear Rule  Discuss with your child:  Why is this important? Pants are private.	Design your own underpants and then label them

The Colour Monster

We teach children to identify numbers, sounds, and learn how to read and write but it is also important to think about our children's’ well- being and helping them to discuss how they are feeling and when they are confused.
