Ahoy! Pirates search for treasure!

The children have been reading The Night Pirates this week about a group of girl pirates who trick the grown up pirates to steal their treasure. We have been busy making our own treasure maps using tea bags to age the paper and using our fine motor skills to rip the edges. The children also applied their phonics knowledge to label the features of their map.

This afternoon we were left a mysterious clue and the children followed the trail of clues around the school to hunt for the treasure. The children worked in teams to read and solve the clues. They were rewarded at the end of the treasure hunt when they found the treasure chest which had some surprises inside!

Maisie quickly solved the finally clue, exclaiming "teachers get their tea from the staff room. Follow me I know the way!"
