Reception School Trip Information

We are very excited to take the Reception children to  Cudmore Grove on Mersea Island on Friday 17th June. It is the perfect location for the children to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the seaside.

The coach will need to leave promptly at 8.30 am in order to ensure we arrive at Cudmore Grove in time to start our activities. The Reception doors will open from 8.10 am. Please ensure the children arrive in plenty of time to organise their belongings, take a trip to the toilet and for teachers to organise the children into small groups.
The children will wear school uniform on the day. If the weather is wet please ensure children have a raincoat and wellies. If the weather is dry trainers or sensible walking shoes would be best. Sandals and open toed shoes will not be suitable for the activities we will be completing on the beach.
If you have not ordered a school packed lunch please ensure the children have a lunch box packed for the day. Cudmore Grove have requested we try to be waste free so labelled re-usable containers would be best if this is possible.
The day will finish at 2.30pm. This will mean we will most likely arrive at Broadford at 3.30pm. Please check the Facebook page and we will keep you updated with information on our return time.
Activities we are completing on the day will include:

Building sandcastles – from the sand and pebble beach
Landscape variation – Compare the landscape to our local area.
Exploring habitats – Discovering the plants and animals that make their home by the water
Beachcombing art – Gathering shells, seaweed and driftwood to create huge land art pictures on the beach.
Treasure hunting.

We look forward to a fun-filled day!
