The children took great delight in having their own street party for the Queens 90th birthday. Before the party the children were involved in a discussion about the Queen. Iyinope asked "When is the Queen coming?" Amelia replied "She's at the palace". We talked about why the Queen was special and how we usually celebrate birthdays, they all discussed other birthdays they had celebrated. It is a stage of development for young children to consider the feelings of others, this also encourages reciprocity and knowledge and understanding of the world.
