Getting into the Christmas Spirit!

We were very lucky to have Mr Borrell the chef visit us in Reception this week, to do some cooking with the children.  The children had great fun decorating cup cakes and biscuits with a Christmas theme.  They strengthened their finger muscles by piping out icing and decorating their treats.  It was an informative session which also entailed guidance on food hygiene.  Some of the children demonstrated great resilience when at first they struggled to pipe the icing but they persevered and were successful in the end!  This was also an opportunity for the children to chat about different celebrations and how they celebrated with their families linking to the knowledge and understanding of the world. Isla linked it to another significant event " I remember when we made pizzas in the Nursery".
