Term: Autumn 1 Date: 09.10.17
Dear Parents,
Your child’s Reading Record was sent home last week, you will be getting a picture book to share this week, this will be sent home on your child’s reading day. Your child’s reading day can be found in the front cover of their reading record. Please ensure the book is sent back weekly on their designated reading day.
This week we will be reading the text ‘Izzy Gizmo’ and carrying out related tasks which will include junk modelling, building resilience and problem solving skills.
The children were very busy preparing their outdoor area last week. They cleared the vegetable beds ready for Spring, and had great fun in the Mud Kitchen. Furthermore we are very lucky as we have ‘The Bug Man’ visiting us on Friday, as well as an array of bugs, we hope he brings his owls and Meerkats. Thank you to all of the parents who have sent is a named set of spare clothes and wellington boots, if you haven’t we would appreciate these as soon as possible.
Rewards Strategies
Just so you are aware we follow a whole school approach to behaviour management, incorporating the 4 R’s which can be found on the school website along with the values. To ensure the system is age appropriate we use a happy and sad face within the Early Years. We do not use ‘House Points’ but we do use ‘Dojo Points’. The points are allocated to children who are choosing to do the right thing. Each week we will have a dojo point winner.
