Dear Parents,
The children settled back quickly after half term and enjoyed creating their own fruit jelly last week. If you have any photos of children celebrating Fireworks night or Diwali please email them to: eyfs@broadford.havering.sch.uk so the children can talk about their experiences with their teachers and friends.
Understanding of the World
We will have a firework/bonfire themed tuff tray available to encourage the children to talk about their recent experiences. There will be bubble wrap, coal and a pretend fire for the children to enjoy popping, crackle and create their own pictures.
Physical Development
This week we are creating our own healthy pitta pizzas. The children will be encouraged to taste and try different vegetables to add to our creations.
Maths
We will be sharing a story called 'More, more, more' with the children. This story encourages counting in order and the use of mathematical language such as 'more'. The children have been carefully counting pegs to add to our cardboard spiders and this will be available for them to continue to develop 1:1 correspondence.
Communication and Language
The children will be encouraged to join in with re-telling our story of the week 'Cat's Colours' and use actions to help them to remember the core Nursery rhymes.
Mark making/Expressive arts and Design
The children will have the rolling paints available to mark make, create their own designs and develop wrist control.
Malleable
Key Dates
Parents Meetings will be towards the beginning or the end of a session during the week commencing on the 19th of November. You will receive your time shortly, please speak to a member of staff if you are unable to make your slot.
27th November - Healthy Eating Stay and Learn session. This will be an opportunity to stay with your child, learn about how we develop healthy eating in school. We also have a nutritionist and Chef visiting so parents can take part in some fun cooking activities with their children.

Malleable
This children enjoyed setting up an Autumn inspired tuff tray last week. We added dried ingredients such as peas, red lentils, chickpeas and pumpkins along with different sized containers and scoops. The children carefully scooped their mixtures developing concentration skills and adults were on hand to develop the children's language and maths as they explored the materials.
